Head or Heart - Who Leads?
Here is an excellent method for helping you to keep your heart open and engaged with the world. Visit Christine’s website for more tips on living well.
I was working with a client last week and a fear layer presented itself wanting to be peeled away. Since this was a phone consultation, I asked what their posture was like at that moment. Ha! An unexpected question was asked and was answered truthfully.
The head was forward. The shoulders rounded. Chest more concave - hence the heart was pushed back, trailing the body. Hmmm... what do you think that meant as far as the fear goes?
The head was leading, the heart was trailing behind. The ego won! Well, the ego did win for a bit, but once a simple re-adjustment of the body was instilled, the world no longer looked so dire. Very simple indeed - shoulders lifted and gently placed back down and in alignment with the hips. Head lifted and ears went in alignment with the shoulders. What lead now? The Heart! YAY!
It's a very simple message, but such a fantastic impact with immediate results!
Think about it, when you head is more forward, you tend to look down. You miss all the wonderful things that are surrounding you. You miss looking someone in the eye. You miss...
However, when your heart leads, the world truly opens up. Your breath is more engaged and assisting your entire glorious body. Your heart can work more efficiently in the physical as well as emotional mode. You can rise above the nonsense that the ego loves to focus on and your heart leads. As you know, where the heart leads, you will not go astray.
Try it. Every time you start to feel down, notice what your body is doing. Adjust it accordingly. Has the situation changed? Probably not, but your outlook will. I so look forward to hearing how your world shifts with this subtle, yet powerful physical shift.
